Going to an interview through Volare Recruitment

Congratulations! You are going to an interview for an exciting permanent position. We want you to do the best you possibly can so have put together a list of handy tips and interview techniques.
  • Research, research, research!
Do your homework on the internet, ask your consultant questions and ensure you understand what the company does and exactly what role you are applying for.
  • Make sure your presentation is immaculate and you look your absolute best.
Clients often think, if you take pride in your presentation at interview, then it is more likely you will take pride in your work. Corporate presentation is usually best although check with your consultant to ensure you are matching the company culture and expectations.
  • Be prepared for the different interview styles such as “warm and fuzzy” or “behavioural” interviews.
Think about what you have done in the past, why you are interested in this role, why you believe you would be the best person for the role, what are your strengths and areas that you may need to improve (keep this positive!).
  • Ensure you arrive 5-10 minutes early to your interview.
Allow plenty of time to get to your destination – don’t want to be late!
  • It may sound like common sense but don’t forget to ensure your mobile phone is switched OFF.
  • Most important, when in interview, RELAX and BE YOURSELF.
An employer will always chose someone they believe they can work with so it is very important that employers can see you smiling and genuinely interested in the role.
  • Do you have any questions?
This is an opportunity to ask questions such as “why do you think staff enjoy working here so much?” or “why is this position available?”. Never ask about the $$$ or hours unless the client brings up the subject first …. Otherwise they may feel you are only concerned about money and not the role or that you might be a clock watcher.
  • At the end of the interview, if this is a role you really want and would accept without a doubt, don’t be afraid of letting the client know.
Thank them for their time and let them know if you were offered the role, you would definitely accept (but only say this if you really do want the role!).
  • Contact your consultant immediately after the interview so we know exactly how you are feeling and whether you would accept the role!
We look forward to working with you at Volare Recruitment and wish you the best of luck on your interview!
